Befor I put on my rear heat exchanger on my attak I have a 'Q'. Do I need gards for it or do i have enuf room with out adding them. Any info will help Thanks.

You WILL need them if you’re studded. I’m actually going back and rebuilding my guards. I had an inch of stand-off but the studs are still hitting the cooler.

Thanks for the info guy's . Is there a OEM part # from yamaha for these gards. Or do I have to make some Thanks.

do you see any problems cutting your lugs when reversing? I had a sharp edge on my guards and they cut the lugs.

yes yes just replaced cooler guards semi worked no leaks but heavy hits from studs

No I have not hit my track on them in reverse. These are further back so they do not hit.

Is this of a 136" ?I made my first ones from old slides and they did not work, just flexed up and the studs rubbed. Used 1by 1 tubing and now no problems.

Here's a thread I had for my Attak. I just added the rear cooler and made up protection about 2 months ago. Some ideas here, and then the pics of what I did. You do need them though, as all have said.

Here's a thread I had for my Attak. I just added the rear cooler and made up protection about 2 months ago. Some ideas here, and then the pics of what I did. You do need them though, as all have said.
So you had to cut of some of the original tubing? How did you fasten the new tubing wich goes one the new cooler?

I used 1x1 with 1/4” flat bar and old hyfax. I needed a bit more protection as I have 1.45” studs so I have just over 1.5” of protection height.
