Bought a used Attak that's studded, the previous owner took out the rear heat exchanger and cut out the protectors at the rear extension only,,,(the 121"-136" area) from the exhaust forward there still protectors still intact

My question do I have to re add the protectors if im NOT adding the rear cooler again?? or will the studs rip the extension apart!

Thanks

Was there a mountain cooler in there or just the stock crossover pipe, and what is in there now?

Was the Yamaha big cooler, now just the crossover pipe with no protectors

I bet he didn't have enought protection over the cooler and ripped it up. Then he replaced the cooler with a cross over pipe.
If you over heat at all which you probably will you got to get the cooler back in. Put 1 1/2 protection over it. Or get Ice Scracthers of some kind.

Yeah he scratched up the original and gave me a 121" cooler that doesn't fit ofcouse in a 136"

So I'm good no protectors needed then?!

When I bought mine new it thad them installed. I cut them for the cooler. I bet you'll need them. The track hits the coolers so why not hit without the cooler?? If the track hit's the cut protectors you may rip the track up. I'd get a cooler and do it right. Put 1 1/2 in protection over the cooler tapering down to nothing just behind the upper wheels. It will hold resale value better too.
