What has everyone else done when there nonrebuildable shock went bad. Will the shocks from a Viper work or any of the other RX-1's for that matter. Thanks

I was blessed to find a ty member getting rid of an ohlins for a warrior. What a difference that shock made in performance! The spring rate is much more progressive throughout travel and it is stiff enough to take "reasonable" trail ruts. I would have spent the money for a new one if I had known the change was that significant much earlier.

warrior shock

I bought a KYB alum shock from pioneer performance for my warrior and have run it 3 yrs. It works great and they will set it up for your weight and riding style when you buy it. Any long travel shock for a yami will work. The warrior shock is slightly longer but you will not notice any difference.

The 04 RX-1 shock will work in the 04 Warrior. However, the RX-1 shock does not have the Compression adjustment. I think the earlier Viper shocks are the same as the RX-1. Probably, the 03 RX-1 shock would fit also. But, when you find one out there, give Bruce a call at Pioneer Performance. He was willing to talk to me about all the possibilities. If this Warrior shock I have now goes bad, I am going to pick up one of Pioneer Performance's replacements. It is cheaper than the OEM, it comes set up for your weight and it is rebuildable.

My shock still works but not like it should long over do for replacement I have over 12K on sled.Stupid non rebuildable shock any way.I happen to know where there is a brand new set of shocks for a Viper sitting on a shelf. Thanks guys for the advice.
