hey guys i see a lot of people have replaced there rear skid in the rx-1's or rx-warrior's, what is the best route to go as far as a skid? ive seen some skids out of polaris pro x's and some ski doo sc4 skids. whats everyones opinions and how hard are they to install??

I just put a 2002 arctic cat ZR skid in my 2005 Rx1, replacing my fragile monoshock.. Went for the first ride last night, and am very impressed so far. I need to re install the coupling blocke in the back tho, cus now its a wheelie monster! Talk about weight transfer... Yee haa

Sleach, read my signature. Did the same thing a couple yrs ago. Except the stock shocks were to light on the valving so I put race shocks all the way around. This thing eats moguls and ditches for breakfast. I did a write up on it and posted pics. What did you use for your rear mount?

Another vote for Cat skids here.
Just powder coated my 136 T-Cat skid this year and had it all apart.
The durability has been awesome as far as shocks, sliders, bearings, etc...
LOVE the transfer and ride.

I cut out a square piece of 3/16 stainless steel, bolted it up. I followed all the measurements you gave in your posts, and all went pretty well. I do have rebuilt clicker shocks(act remote res shock) that I had re valved to stiffer for my weight. Plus big boy springs cuz I'm big.. thanx for all the good info!!
