Does anyone have a cure for the flimsy flap attachment?

I owned an o6 vk pro and had a hard time keeping the flap out of the tunnel. so much so that it bent the attachment completley out of shape
I have updated to the 08 model and before I took delivery i had the dealer remove both the flap and the attchment. I then went to a sheet metal shop and had a piece of stainless cut and angled and riveted in place of the original attachment. Ithen had a flap made a little shorter from a piece of 1/4 conveyor belt. I have had no issues with this since.

If I back hard into a snow bank, the flap pushes up onto the track and rattles away. But it doesn't seem to be caught by much so I might try trimming an inch off the bottom of the flap... or else quit backing hard into snow banks.

Your exactly right, did anyone from Yamaha actually take a ride on this machine before they put it into production? Come on Yamaha this is 2009 you have a lot of fixing on the pro to get back in the ball game. How many model years will it be before a much needed change will occur. I can't wait as long as the vk 540.
