Rear suspension back from powder coater...SWEET

Looks great, but imo I would paint up that shock spring while you have it out.

Not a big fan of yellow either so I would paint it black, white or silver if it were mine.

I know what you mean. My plan was to send some more parts out next spring for powder coat. I plan on getting the front arms done in white and that coil spring as well.

I figured, its hard to really see much of that spring when its all mounted in the tunnel so I can live with it for a year.

Heres my two cents.. The skid looks FANTASTIC!! But the spring looks terrible, its all chipped and rusty, and puke yellow, lol!
You got the whole summer, take the spring off and call half baked to get it done. He wont charge you much, and wont take him long.

Do it now so the whole skid looks 10 times better then new. You spent so much $$ already and the spring looking like that is taking away from the great results.

The spring in the photo is a take-off from an Attak, and it just came in the mail last week froma fellow TY-er. I swapped out the stock Apex spring.

I wish I had acquired the spring earlier, I would have sent it out with the rest of the stuff and had it done in white.

I already got a price from Welt for the spring. I'd be right around $50 with shipping both ways the get it done. I'll think about it some more.

Geez, lately it seems like any little thing I want to do to this sled amounts to $50 minimum!

One bonus is that I just found out last night that I have until the end of Jan 2011 till YES will expire on my sled. The guy I bought it from this February said that the warranty was already run out. Sweeter deal than I though I had!

That's great news!
Just curious how you found that out?

When I bought mine, the previous owner stated he had no warranty left what so ever (bought new in Jan/09 and ran out in Jan/10 he said)

I just thought the minimum on these Yamaha sleds would be at least 2 yrs and then optional for more years after that?

Hopefully I get lucky like you did?
Way to go.

Irv,

See my thread link below for some details on how I found out about my extended warranty.

http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=88628

The forum member took the time to run a report from my serial number.

However, it is my understanding that any dealer and generate a report for you and tell you if your warranty is up or still in effect.

The report also tells you what repairs were done and when under the warranty.

Thanks snowaddict, I will PM the same guy and ask if he minds checking mine for me as well?
Appreciate the info, thanks ;)!

How much roughly did it cost to powdercoat everything in the skid? Did you send it to half baked or somewhere else?

Everything you see in the photos (page 1 of the thread shows all the parts laid out) was media blasted and powder coated for $150.

I used a local company 3 miles form where I work in Waukesha, WI. I wanted to save myself the shipping costs and I didn't need a beef-up kit.
