Just had my rear skid out to have a good look at it and have the shock rebuilt and revalved to match the "big boy" spring. When I took out the suspension I followed the instructions I got from this forum. I blocked the front of rear skid and removed limiter strap and skid literaly fell out when I removed the 4 mounting bolts. However putting it back in was a real bear. I left the limiter strap off and had a heck of a time getting bolt holes to line-up. Mind you I did this by myself and hope it is easier with another set of hands. Now for my question. Does anyone have a procedure to put rear skid in that doesn't involve cursing?

I have to update the install, if you remove the bolt from the transfer rod, it will line back up

MY procedure is.....
1) invite mechanic buddy over for some beers.
2 drink entire 30 pack.
3) tell him you need some pointers and show him your dillema.
4) Watch him install skid while you act like your helping and paying attention.
5) wake in the A.M. skid installed and no cursing on your part.

Which bolt, the front or the back, is the easiest to reattach on the transfer rod?

Don't forget that you still have to load the rear of the skid to get it to line up. After taking the transfer rod out the rear skid bolts line up much easier. You then are stuck trying to figure out how to reinstall the transfer rod. Load the rear of the track which will compress the suspension and this will allow you to reattach the transfer rod.
Only takes a few minutes and one person can do it if you are using a lift. If you suspend the rear from the rafters it's a little harder, but just get a floor jack and stick it under the track and lift until everything lines up.
