trying to get a feel for the yamaha suspension setup on my apex?
where to set limiter straps and transfer rods for climbing? im running 10 lbs of boost and having a hard time keeping the front end down to a managable height. any suggestions to start and where to adjust to tame this down a little? im probably 270 with gear on. limiter straps are fully extended and the transfer rods on the bottom mark. any advise??

Move the rear suspension to the bottom hole in the mounting brackets, makes a big difference.
Put the spring block to hardest and suck the limiter straps up all the way. With the combination of these three it becomes much more manageable in the hills. Hope this helps, or at least gives yo ua good starting point.
Other than that on a stock skid, your going to have to look aftermarket, then it gets expensive. Have fun and crank up the boost baby.

Try doing all of these things, but only try one at a time and in small steps so you can see which gives you the effect you want.
You can also change the transfer rod gap and preload on the center shock. Less gap on the rods = less transfer. Small changes make a difference with the transfer rods. Less center shock preload = less transfer.
You should have got a suspension tuning card when you bought your sled, and you can check that for instructions. You should also have 2 wrenches in your tool kit that fit the transfer rod nuts.
You will not be able to totally eliminate transfer all of the time, but you should be able to control it without sacrificing ride quality.

I tightened my limitor strap 2 holes and it wasn't near as fun. Front didn't come up. Does stiffer springs make a difference in transfer? I have my shock all the way tight with the heaver spring, and the adjuster blocks on heavy also with heavyer springs. How would this affect me? Have the back rods loose.

To me it would seem like a really stiff ride and bouncy with the bigger springs set on har. I have the stock ones set on hard and the up things done and it rides pretty stiff and almost on the verge of bouncy. I weigh about 240 with all my gear on to. Im sure it would keep the skis down more but at the point where steering effort would be sacrificed and ride quality would be bad but its really up to you how you want it. Have fun, there are so many combinations that work, its just up to you to find it.
