I have been running premium fuel in my 09 RTX and have seen a lot of Nytros fill up on regular fuel. I was wondering if I am just wasting money on the good stuff and if there is a downside to using regular……. minus 41c with windchill tonight. YIPEE!!!!

On average, premium runs $.30 more a gallon. You'd only be saving $2.10 per FULL tank.... I run 91 just because of how much ethanol is in 87 here in MN.

I run premium unless the area I am in doesn't have premium. For the sake of a few bucks it is worth it. I also have the fitch fuel catalyst in the tank. My fuel always smells fresh even after sitting since last march.

X2 I only use regular gas if all the grades contain ethanol. The engine is designed for a 10% ethanol tolerance, but I choose not to use it.

I have only ever run regular gas....the sled doesn't know what premium tastes like. What it doesn't know won't hurt it.

Its just burning money using premium in this engine. Its not cleaner burning, it can handle ethanol and its not gaining any performance. So if you like to waste money because it makes you feel better, just send me some.

Even with full intake and exhaust, I run regular fuel. The compression ratio hasn't change nor the timing so why spend the extra money. FYI, the nytro is designed to run with ethanol.

Ethanol attracts water. That's the only reason I burn premium..

I always carry a can of Sea Foam in my back pack for my fuel....regardless of 87 or 91. I usually run premium, but after reading this thread may just stick to regular. That said, there are many remote places that only offer regular and the Nytro doesnt seem to care.

I used to only run supreme, but this year I am gonna run regular. I am convinced that burning supreme is just a waste of money.
