If you have not already removed the carbs from the sled:
- Remove air box.
- Uncouple wireing for TORS, TPS and Electric carb heaters.
- Remove throttle and chocke wires.
- Loosen the clamps at the carb boots.
- Take the carbs off the boots.
- Remove the water lines, having a pair of hose pliers comes in handy in preventing coolant spill.
- With the carb rack on the workbench, take off the carb float bowls at the bottom of the carbs.
- You will now have good access to the mains and pilot jets.
- The Pilot jets will have 17.5 stamped on them (if stock that is)
- The main jets will have 135 stamped on them (if stock)
- The jets with 75 stamped on them are the power jets, leave them alone.
- When tighten the new jets be careful not to over tighten.
- Reassemble.
When you have the carb bowls off you may also measure the float height while at it. Stock float height is 13 millimeter, adjustment can be made between 11-15 millimeter according to the book. The most important is that all 4 floats measures the same and are complety level.
I would recommend a complete carb clean and a carb syncronization for the best possible performance of you sled, but that will require some more work, not difficult at all to do, only takes more time.
