I'm doing a job I hate. Replacing the a arm bushings. I spent an hour removing one nut from one of the long bolts. It was froze on, and I had to drill the nut to weaken it, then used vise grips on it.

My question now is what do I use to remove the old bushings? I know one of you creative guys has a good method.

See pic. Ulmer posted this earlier, use the new bushing to knock out the old, flange of the bearing is now opposite of original but is fine.

I use a DEEP SOCKET in the buik head, get just the right size and drive them out and in the arms use your long bolts SHOULDER from the arms and tap them out...

I also shimed the FRONT to BACK slack with home made VINYL SIDING washers and what a DIFFERENCE it makes, no more SLOPE...but what a pain to fit them in, patience...patience...and more patience! but worth the effort.

bushings

While reading a post about bushings, it was said that it was a good idea to add a washer to take out the end clearance. I wonder if a garden hose washer would work.

Garden hose washer is to soft will not work. I cut and filed down the old Yamaha bushings and used them as washers. Works Mint!!!!
