Well, I got bored working on my bike so I started maintenance on the sled. Went to remove the Primary clutch cover, ended up tearing up the bushing. It seems who ever I had do maint last must have over torqued the main bolt and then never backed it off . The washer is not centered on bolt which is what tore up the bushing. My problem is that I cannot get the bolt out. I have used a impact wrench at 105 psi and nothing. Cannot use a cheater bar because the cover is off for holding the clutch in position. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Well I talked with local Yamaha dealer. They removed the bushing so I could get the cover back on and also let me borrow their clutch holding tool. As mentioned a 3ft extension, not a impact, on the cheater bar broke it loose. The bolt is really corroded and rusty. Decided to replaced the bolt and washer. With the clutch remover tool the clutch came out no problem. No idea why the bolt would be that bad in one season.

You have a galvanic cell right there, steel shaft/aluminum primary, with a zinc plated bolt.

If it gets wet and salty the zinc on the bolt will corrrode very fast in order to protect the steel and aluminum as it is designed to do.

I would replace the bolt every season, it will prevent the other parts from corroding. Do you ride on salted roads?

For the most part I would say no. Except last year I did the RAP tour and that included a lot of road and ditch running, so that could be the culprit.
