I have a VL but the part numbers are the same on the phazer for the rear axle. I'm trying to get the axle out, I've removed left nut and right wheel but can't tap the axle out. I know the axle needs to be pushed out from left to right but I just can't get it to budge. I'm thinking its stuck to the left wheel bearing race or could it be something else I'm missing? I'm afraid if I hit it any harder I might crack a rail! I have PB blaster on it now for about 5 hours.

Yep tensioners are all the way loose. I think It's probably the outer wheel bearing race stuck to the shaft. The right wheel bearing went out and all that was left was the bearing race stuck to the shaft (wheel fell off). I tried getting what was left of the bearing off the shaft and it wasn't going anywhere. I put PB Blaster on it last weekend, and today I could turn it by hand! I just hope it doesn't take that long for the other side.

X2 on the anti-seize. I used to use the silver stuff liberally. I just started using another kind that's marine grade by Loctite. Apparently some mechanics use it on brake parts. It looks like a thick grey greasy goo. But I've had good results with the silver stuff but I've had instances where it washed off. I'll see how this stuff works.

You could try using a heat gun and warm the bearing up. You could also use a dremel tool and cut through the outer race and remove the balls then carefully cut the inner race without nicking the shaft. Be careful not to damage the threaded part of the shaft when you pounding on it.
