Has anyone removed one yet? It looks like it may take 4 bolts.. I'm just hoping it comes out without removing all the plastic.I need to strip it and buff it out, then have my buddy clear-coat it. MM. :ORC

No need to take off the plastic. You can get to the 4 bolts from the rear tunnel area. It takes about 2 minutes...
I buffed mine with the following recipe:
Wet sand paper 400grit, 600 grit, 1200 grit, 1500grit and then used a buffing compound. It took about half an hour.
You are smart to clear coat it as they corrode quickly after the initial polish. I did not clear coat mine, but found never-dull wadding polish works great to reclean.
Also, for generla aluminum cleaning, that aqueous based purple stuff degreaser sold in most auto parts stores works awesome in full strength. Just don't let it dry on the aluminum. Be sure to wipe it off before this happens. It also works great on the vinyl seat, too!

Did mine this fall....http://www.rx1.info/viewtopic.php?t=6857 Looks great and makes for easy cleanup when it gets dirty over that rough surface from the factory.
