Anyone else have issues with the reverse lever freezing and not being able to put it in reverse?

Any fixes for this or how do I prevent it....

Is this something I should be worried about?

Only time mine freezes is when I wash it. Thaw it out and put your choice of lubricant on it. Wd40 or what ever you use. Otherwise I don't usually have any problems.

sometimes when i have a lot of snow/ice around the lever i find it really hard to pull it upwards that little bit to unlatch it. i've used the strap of my glove to pull on it as its a bit awkward. never had it freeze completely.

After your done riding (get home) back it in its parking stall. So next time you can drive it out, after you ride it a while it will thaw out. Happens to me alot

Just take some lock deicer and squirt it down the lever shaft takes two seconds. I just carry it with me in my pocket never know when it might come in handy for something else

Mine always freezes when it is cold. I have had to pull it out by hand out of the trailer.

This just happened to me yesterday too. Worked fine on the ride but then couldn't move the lever. Thought something was broken, but after it warmed up in the garage seems fine? Could the linkage/gears jam and then unjam - or is it really just frozen? Would have not considered that at all if it wasn't for this post. Must be the cold Manitoba wind!

I think nearly every Yamaha rider has experienced this. I rub some low temp. grease on the shaft (grease I use on my Deere tractor) and find it helps the cause.
