Greeting all!
Looking for a little advice.

I have to replace my reverse lever due to an unpleasent experience on last ride (played Superman) but thats another story. Anyhow that tall pin that goes through the levers arm is seriously pressed in and I did manage to extract it buy using vise grips (ugh!) and wiggling it back and fourth while pulling up.
Now the problem of installing the pin in the new lever, I tried to offset a "C" clamp and gently press it in but to no avail. Fighting off my caveman instincts to pound it in with a club I decided to ask the experts here on how to proceed.
Please advise :rocks:

the only thing I can think of is the club, maybe you can take off all the linkage and go it in a vise

Thanks Storm!
I did beat it into submission tonight, removing coolant hose and wiring back the spring helped. Tried to press it in again with a c-clamp and then large channel locks but to no avail.
Sometimes the ole HAMMER mechanic routine is required :jump:
