on the RX there are two adjustments, one rod gets a 0 freeplay adjustment and the other is a 27 mm length adjustment. I had the nut on which the lever pivots come loose and cause odd problems. I can go into more detail if someone thinks that the Apex and RX reverse mechanisms are identical.

well the problem i thinm im seeing there is a huge amount of free play in the joints of the rods and the connecting point to where it mounts to the chain case and i dont feel any free play in it. but after looking how much the bottom rod is moving the reverse, its no wonder why its slipping out. can these worn out in 1300 miles? just went out and messured the top adjuster and between the locking nuts its 1 1/2" i dont have a mm messuring rule but that seems wrong to me if its suppose to be 27 mm or 1.6" if its wrong then its been that way right along and been working as i didnt change anything.

27 mm is slightly over 1 inch. Also please keep in mind that these specs are for the RX-1 and I am not at all sure that the Apex is the same.

25.4 MM to an inch if memory serves me so 1 and a half inches would be about 38mm

so this is way out of adjustment. werid how its worked all this time so now i wondering if any damage has been done. so ill go out and change the setting and then have to rechange the bottom free play i guess. thanks for the info. this sled is been coming close to being set on fire today lol.

Reverse Adjustment
I'm quite certain the adjustment specs are the same for the Apex/Attak sleds as well as the RX1.
I would suggest raising the rear of the sled off the ground (not sure if it matters, but at least it won't add pressure to the driveline when making adjustments).
If you find that the lever won't move-maybe rotate the track by hand a bit as maybe the gears are "tooth to tooth" and won't mesh.
Here's another link to view:

I adjusted my reverse linkage as instructed and it worked well.
Another tip, use the search feature to help find info.
For example, type in " reverse AND adjustment " in the search field and select Apex/Attack General Talk and you'll find several threads, but most will point you back to here:

Hope this info helps to solve you reverse issue.
On my new sled, I just push a button to go in reverse

well i dont know guys and im sure you think im a nut by now but there is no way that this 27mm is going to work as i got it close to 27 and couldnt even more the the handle and (w/track off ground) i put it in reverse and it still goes froward. the only thing i can think of is that someone(b4 me) had adjusted both upper and lower to the wrong set up.
the 2nd pic is where its set @1/1/2" to where i put it back to and now for some reason on the stand it works in reverse again(but w/ no pressure on it). 1st pic is the up and down rod which messures about 23/24 mm. does anyone know whatthe messurement should be as im trying to figure ifits been moved prior to me having the sled. thanks.

You need to go back to where you were! If it had been working but then one time it grinded, then you just happend to be tooth to tooth and it would not engage. (Once in a great while I get that. Put it back in forward, blip the throttle to move forward a couple of inches, then it goes into reverse perfectly)
One other thing you could try once you are back to where you were if it still aint right. try 1/8 inch longer than where you were originally, then try 1/8 inch shorter.
