i've been fighting this for some time and i'm ready to solve the problem. you can find additional post on the rx mtn talk, but i thought i'd ask over here as well, sorry it's sort of a double post but not really, just need more info

okay still having issues? adjusted the needle height for starters trying to lean it out, still popping (low rpm's) and backfiring on shut off? i've been reading up on tuning out the popping and it seems like a real difficult issue? so tonight i pull the carbs onto the bench for a good cleaning and smaller main jets plus resetting of the needle.

but here's where i'm at on the needle, 1 up from before (leaner, right?)
order from the top

washer
washer
clip (top setting)
spacer

also i've been running 91 octane and it appears that may not be a good thing and could be contributing to my problem?

again could a rich condition contribute to the sensitivity of the air intake? thus causing excessive bog in deep snow?

thanks, big weekend plans!!!!

give it a try with 87 octane. mine gets all boggy and tempermental when i run 92.

For the last 2yrs I have had the bottom end bog/ gurgle. Low RPM was awfull. Guys behind me could hear it loadig up and gurgling smell the fuel dumping out. I have an under tunnel exhaust and find that the sled runs very rich.
I put in #15 pilot jets and it cured all my problems on the bottom end. I also was running stock jets 135's and had to put the clip on #5(very top slot) Bottom end is great but now soft on top end being still to rich.
I will next try some 132.5MJ and put the needle back to #3

No bogging yet but i sure notice the popping on my 05 reversing into my storage shed.... sounds cool as long as she don't puke cause of it!

Any exhaust leaks, bad donuts...?
