Ride Report on Curve XS with Vendor Input

Well, thankfully we have peace of mind knowing that won't happen. Case in point; you'd have to go back to stock skis!

Thanks for the support Lou. You're alright in our book ;)!

Just a joke for sure! and besides - stock Yamai skis are just plain unacceptable!
Truth of the matter is "Empty Nest Syndrom" I read a ton about my passion of snowmobiling, And thank you and Nick for designing such a great product that makes my passion that much more enjoyable.

If they really aren't any wider how do they help in the flotation dept.?

When you think about our skis, you can't use 'conventional wisdom' to explore how or why they work.

Key Curve Concept-
Snow is great stuff because unlike water, it can be compressed and its density can be manipulated. As you compress snow, the density increases and likewise, its capacity to support the weight of your machine increases. One outcome of exploiting this physical principle of snow is increased floatation. Strategically manipulating snow density is the revolutionary concept behind the XS ski.

In short, the XS provides exceptional floatation because they are wider only where they need to be and have been designed to work differently than any other ski on the market. With the forward velocity of your machine, the 7+" intake profile of our XS ski grabs a bunch of snow. From that point, the snow is quickly compressed as it travels across the continuously variable decreasing compression profile. After it passes the spindle, the continuously variable increasing exhaust profile escorts the snow out the back of the ski. You don’t need two planks under your front end to stay above the white stuff; you do however need to fully understand what it takes to keep you on top.

Furthermore, the extremely low friction coefficient between the plastic and snow allows continuous snow density manipulation without excess wear or drag. You can’t expect leaps and bounds from playing with the same exhausted technology. You have to update the book of ‘conventional wisdom’ to get the job done.

I hope this key concept approach has given you a true understanding of why our ski works so well in so many different conditions.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I just may have to give them a try. What colors do you have to match my 40th anniversary LTX; Black with Red loops?

An educated buyer not only represents the products they purchase better, an educated buyer will also feel a deeper sense of satisfaction once they've made a purchase decision.

It is therefore our duty as a manufacturer to inform and educate our customers to the best of our ability.

You know, a lot of people like the black skis with an accent loop. Brett above you ordered the white skis with yellow loops. It's all personal preference and how much you'd like to accent or offset the colors on the rest of the machine.

If you tell me what colors you are thinking about, I'd be happy to make up some renderings for you. This should help you get a good idea of what will look best on your machine.

Friends of mine have the same Apex Anniversary edition. One runs the red skis and black loops, the other runs black skis and red loops. They both look great.

Here is a link to Brett's thread with some more ideas.

4:07 am, you up late or up early?
I'm thinking Black with red handles. Let me get one more thing clarified; did I read that any wear bar with 4 studs will bolt up? I have both triple point bergstroms and 7.5 Shaper bars. Would they both work? The last thing I want to do is purchase a ski that has a proprietary carbide that I can't get while I'm out riding if one is needed in a pinch.

Curve Industries doesn't sleep. We are a well oiled machine! I like to think of it as 24/7 customer support ;)!

The XS takes a Stud Boy 2198 series carbide in either a 10" or 17" host bar. This bolt pattern is the same as C&A so you should be able to find them at any aftermarket oriented shop. Any C&A bolt pattern should work.

Below is a rendering of the black skis with red loops

I like the looks of that :bling
You don't want to hear this, but unfortunatley right now I'm buying motorcyle goodies (bike season). I probably won't be in the snowmobile accessory buying mood again until fall. Planning on any promo's between now and then?
