WASHING VEHICLES THE RIGHT WAY
I live on a lake in Michigan. The house is on the lake and pole barn is behind the house across the road.
Every Saturday morning I wash my truck and car both Chevy’s. Pole barn does not have water, so I run water from the house 100’ away. Will for 30 plus years I thought I was doing a good job. All ways had water spots and windows impossible to get right.
Last week my neighbor showed me what he uses, a water softener just for washing vehicles.
A two hose system so you can by pass the softener Wow what a difference.
It’s about $100. For a summer pick it up and return it for replacement.

I have a water softener for my house and I always get spots unless I wipe it dry. What kind of softener is that?

It's a deionized water system. I just installed one in my garage for spotless rinse on my vehicles. I use to have a system that Mr. Clean made that had a small D.I. filter in it but they stopped making it. I run 2 separate hoses with my setup. Works great! No spots and no hand drying!

I did some research and there are some systems out there specifically for car washing and they are basically deionizers. I can't justify an expense like this to Mrs. Moose. I guess I'll just have to keep using this special shammy to wipe the truck. Works very well.

Or you can live I Two harbors MN were they get water from Lake Superior. My buddy washes everything rinses it leaves it wet and is dry and spotless in the morning .
I couldn't believe it. In southern mn that would that would have left crusty rings not just spots.

Most home softener systems are set up to supply hard water to outside taps, have you checked the plumbing?I have a water softener for my house and I always get spots unless I wipe it dry. What kind of softener is that?

Water softeners just replace the hardness with salt so it still leaves spots no matter what.

Exactly the salt spots are a lot easier to clean than the hard water onesWater softeners just replace the hardness with salt so it still leaves spots no matter what.
