Ringer boost at weenie roast lakewoods

Well I certainly don't believe that the Boost is in the 250+ hp range. Most dyno reports have them around 185-190 which I find very believable.
I'll say that it does have legs in the upper speed ranges. I haven't had it into tripple digits yet, but it pulls extremely strong into the lower 90mph range, with no sign of running out of steam.
I would love to put this up against my 182hp 06 Apex. Provided I could get the Boost to hook up, that would be a good race.
With respect to Winder performance, it's always been my opinion that they don't seem to run quite as strong as their dyno numbers would seem to suggest.
A well tuned Apex can run in the upper 100 teens to low 120's. Winders seem to need much more power to run similar or greater speed numbers. Whether that's from an inefficient drive train or what? I don't know.
I would have to agree on dyno numbers can and do mislead the public as more times than not they tend to be inflated to some degree vs real world set ups.. If your Apex is 182 horsepower you must have some work done to it cause stock they were around 168 in 2006. You are right they would run 126 on speedo but the actual was more like 118 on the gun… Remember the Apex was a smooth 4 hole bullet proof motor thats for sure… Winders can be made to go faster and faster and all it takes is more money, more money same as your boost.. The difference is they will run harder and longer in most cases… Simple four stroke vs two stroke wear and tear..

Actually a stock Apex is right around 150hp. And yes mine is modded with a Yamacharger and ported head, amongst other things.

I don't want to get into the 2 stroke vs 4 stroke reliability debate, it's been beaten to death for over 20 years now. Each camp knows the strengths n weaknesses of each type of engine by now.

But yes the Apex 4 holer was and still is a great engine. It's the ONLY reason I've kept mine this long.

I can say this though; I absolutely love that new Boost. GREAT looking, comfortable, very good suspension, and surprisingly quick.
Reliability "may" be the only question mark.

But even with the 4 stroke engine, the Winders have had more than their share of durability concerns.

My bone stock 2019 srx runs between 115 - 120 with a 1.5" track in 1/4 mile

I must correct my self as I meant to type 158 horsepower on Apex. I think the so called experts were saying 158 as the changes made between the RX-1 and Apex was 8 horsepower added from 2005 to 2006 . Yes the Winder chassis has had issues and that was typical with Cat but once you get these little things fixed its a great high mileage trail ride sled period. With the power thats being put to this chassis its held its own and one would expect some issues.. Iam not knocking your boost as I rhode Polaris for many years and owned six different machines they built so I know a little about their problems also…
