I put a 2" riser on my handlebars and I went out riding today and my throttle stuck every time I turned hard right. So frusterating!! When I put it on I took the throttle cable outside the little gold bracket all the other cables are running through to give it a little more room, and raised the front of the sled up to check for binding. Didn't think about starting it up though when I went side-to-side checking it. Was wondering if I knocked the little rivet off the bottom of the handlebars if that would give me enough forward lift to give the cable a little more slack. Anyone run into this? Not sure what else to do. Also, after riding today I wouldn't mind getting like a 3-4" riser instead. What would I need to do besides get a longer throttle cable as far as all the other lines go??? Thanks.

I put a 2 inch riser on mine also....I was told that a stock cable would suffice but is a little tight. The best thing to do is to buy an 05 RX1 Mountain throttle cable for 20 bucks. It is longer and will solve your problem.
I grinded that little rivet off too to put the handlebar more vertical. My brake cable was a little stretched also when turning sharp to one side. I moved the brake handle in a little bit and that took care of the problem (it needed to be done anyway to fit the Powermadd handguards).
Anything more than a 2" riser then you are looking at a brake cable. I didn't want to go there.
Did you end up doing Thrusted Vector's bracket fix? I haven't done it yet because I work late every day and my last days off was riding with the kids. I can't afford much down time when there is so little time. When I get the chance I will (hopefully soon).

I will go down to the dealer to see if they have the longer cable. As far as the drop down bracket goes I just decided to buy an M7 141" Arctic Cat skid to install. It's sitting in the shop on the bench now, but we have a big 3 day ride this weekend so it won't get installed until next week. Thanks for the reply!

I went 4'' higher on my 03mtn with the 05mtn cable and didn't have to change any other cables. I did loosen the brake hose and turn it down a little and everything worked great. I also added 12'' to all the wires and enclosed them in wire looms to clean things up. By adding that much wire you're able to hide all the plugins under the gas tank shroud, Ken.

Boost, I did the same, scrapped the handlebar pad, hid all the plugs under the cab and covered the wires up with wire protector so it looks like the Apex. Now I can see my guages.
I also installed a Yamaha plastic cover thing from my old 1983 Enticer Trapper. It covers the bolts at base of the bars and snaps in perfect. Looks awesome. I thank Warden for the idea. He did the same by taking the plastic thing from the base of the bars on his old beater Bravo. I should attach a pic for the hell it (I need to figure it out first).

I have a 3.5" Rox Riser.on my 05 RX..had no issues with the brake by re-routing but had to put a longer throttle and choke cable on. No way to get enough slack with the throttle and choke.

Aaron, I added fly bars and an 8" riser using MPI's long RX-1 cable and SLP's longer brake line. I also did a wire clean up using 3/8" red wire loom ans 5" long velcro wire ties to hold the loom together. I bought thr wire loom, velcro ties and heat shrink water proof wire connectors at Wal-Mart. Here are the pics I tooks of the bars after the wiring was all done.
Also, if you remove that rivet, you should beablr to get the slack you need for the stock cable. I used a pivot riser and had the bars pointed straight up. I went two years with no problems.
