I'd appreciate it if anyone can tell me the tallest and best (pro's & cons) handlebar riser I can go with on a XTX without having to change (extend) the throttle cable and brake line.

Get ahold of Superman (lakeeffect) as he makes the risers and has the experience. I have his 2.5" and I think that is as high as the cables will give you. You have to move the throttle cable if you have the OFT reloctor and the 2.5" riser and then I needed a taller seat. The snowball effect ~ got to love it. Anyways I love the combo.

X2 on the Lake Effect, Best customer service ever. I have the 6in with flat bars with no mods to the cables and i did put the stock bars on just to see if they would work. I am 6'1.5 and I love the 6in with the flat bars (that would be a 4.5 with the stock bars). Perfect to stand and lets me lean good when sitting. I did put the throttls cable under the bars instead of over them like stock.

Bottlerocket is correct. His XTX has a flat top steering post. A MTX riser (6" tall) will bolt right on, but the MTX has a longer throttle cable, and probably a longer brake line as well......but I'm not positive of the latter. How tall are you Canoehead? Welcome to the site! Good to see you over here.

Sorry about that. I was unaware of the posts being different. Could you still get the round adapter from RSI to make the lake effect work? Anyway I would then defiantly take the advise of the XTX owners. But I would maybe unbolt the bars and pull them up to get an idea on how high you can go. The same sleds could be different, a friend and I had ZR's once. Same sled and at the same time in the garage we were raising the bars and I went 6 and hade room to go more and he couldn't even go 3 without reroute g the cables. Same sled same year and both baught new.

Thanks for the input guys! I'm a scrawny 6'2" weighing in around 270lbs (soakin wet) probably around 300 fully geared and beered! I don't really want to extend or change hoses because I'm always doing that kinda crap and if I don't like it I don't want have that extra coin in it. Thanks for all the advice and hospitality. Glad to be aboard!! :yam:

I put a 3" block riser and copied grizztracks steering relocate idea only moving it up half way, gave me alot of rise. way better. re-routed the throttle cable to the other side of the bars.

I would get a Lake Effect 2.5" riser from superman (site sponser) as the product is top notch. They come in different colors also. Search superman under author in the search section.

Lake effect has a riser setup specific for the XTX I believe. Our NCI X-Factor risers are still being developed for the XTX at this point.

X Factor
Taking orders on those.

On pages 56,57 of the 2011 Yamaha accessories catalog there is a chart with all the info you need for risers and bar options.
