rode a rev800 h.o. this weekend

REV Experience

I rode a REV 600 HO for two days in January, it was the GSX version. I hated it for the first 50 miles but by 100Miles I was starting to get worried, cause I actually started to enjoy it. I have a very bad history with SkiDont, so I was hoping I would hate it! Anyway, after two full days and ~450 miles here is my take...

At first I noticed some leg fatigue in my knees, but then that went away. I actually was surprised that my back didn't get tired being so erect, but it was fine for the long mile days. I liked the ability to stand quickly whenever I wanted, and man that rear skid handle the big bumps and studders really really well. My 02 Viper would be spanking my #*$&@ in the same situation, in fact my buddy on his 02 Viper was in front of me getting spanked by his seat and I was laughing.

Power reminds me of my 95 MXZ, that motor had some spunk to it, very snappy, right there whenever, but not a smooth as the tripple. Top end, the Viper would walk away in my oppinion but we didnt go at it side by side.

It did feal tippy at first but not as bad towards the end of the trip, but my confidence in the corners was no where near that of my Viper. When I got back on the Viper I confirmed that.

All and all a decent sled but not enough to convince me to buy another SkiDont. Plus I really want the 4 stroke.

OH, forgot, gas and oil consumption was really bad relative to the Viper.
