All I can say is that I loved my RX1 but wanted a change. I approached this sled with lower expectations and the 100 miles I out on it yesterday did not disappoint me.
I have a 2004 Renegade 800HO "X". Actually when I sold my RX1 I swore I would never go back to a 2-stroke. We went riding and had alot of trail breaking through about 1 1/2 - 2 ft. of powder.
Here are my likes and dislikes about my REV...
DISLIKES
Wind Protection (even with larger windshield)
2-Stroke Smell on my REIMA gear....
(didn't miss that)
My forearms are killing me...(first ride pains):exc:
Throttle Lever is a tough pull...hard on the thumb.
Precision Skis in powder aren't that great (RX1 was better in same conds.)
Gas & Oil will cost a few $$ still too early to tell. Hate to have to worry about the oil.
Fuel guage was not accurate.
LIKES
Power (I was very surpised...this thing HAULS A$$, I would say it "FELT" faster than my 03 RX1 up to about 90 MPH)
Weight (it's VERY light and very easy to throw around especially in the powder)
136" Track is always nice
Hooks Up like a Mutha!
Handling (Very good and stable)
Road Riding - I found my RX1 handled poorly on roads and my sliders melted fast. We sometimes need to ride 10-15 miles on logging roads and the Doo sticks like glue and sliders held up very well.
Extra space on the back of the tunnel....AWESOME..No saddle bags needed
Well that's all for now. Taking a 700 mile ride in early January so I'll let you know. If this thing holds together I am thinking it will be a great sled.

We went to South River and rode the "ungroomed" "D" trail...there's alot of snow North of Huntsville. I went with a buddy who has a cottage up there so he lead the way. I probably would have never found this place.

Take this to the skidoo forum. I'm tired of the people who want to talk about other sleds. THIS IS A YAMAHA FORUM!
Sorry you decided to leave us, but you have, so please take your opinions with you!

Wonder the above comment is the reason Dan froze his account on this form. He has two Z's he is testing but he also has two 05 RX1's for his family.
Stick around for we would miss you!!

You were an RX1 owner so I am happy to hear your honest opinion of the REV...I personally like the REV...I would never give up the four stroke...So back to the question about the knees..How are they on long rides...The rumours about the sore knees might just be a little brand bashing from guys that don't own them...

Hey Boomer
Mr. 60 POSTS!!! You got a problem with me posting. Too Bad.
PS...I put 5000 miles on my 2003 RX1 and loved every mile on it....I had an 05-RX1 Snow Checked but decided against it for $$ reasons. Will now wait until next season to buy another. FYI....It's the guys like us that have been around here for a while and have seen everything who give the most information to guys like you.
Ok....Back to the KNEES question. My knees were sore but it wasn't pain like a bruise, it was more like muscular pain. Today my legs are stiff and my arms are sore. But my back is great...(I have a weak back).
This post was moderated by convert and i too have a problem with that type of language on this forum if your gonna get personal put it in a PM DO NOT put it on here. RX Wonder you are well within your rights this is a Yamaha site but as long as your being constructive and not bashing the RX/RS sleds feel free to let us know your opinions.

Wonder I think a lot of us were waiting for your first impression and now posted I am sure the matter will not come up again.

Wonder, That type of response is not needed nor appreciated. That is just the type of abuse that has been absent from this forum and not tolerated. I think it is great what you contribute and how much you enjoy your sleds. I do however deserve as much respect as someone who has thousands of posts or 2 posts. I simply thought that there are other places to put impressions and discussions about your Rev. I get on here to read and talk about Yamahas. Lately there has been a bit of mild bashing and complaining about us and I frankly got tired of it. Please don't bring down the maturity level and class of this forum by swearing at me or implying that I don't deserve respect by criticizing the number of posts I have.
