I was riding Tug Hill today. We stopped at Montague for lunch, and Yamaha was there giving demo rides on the new 2005 sleds. I had a Warrrior last year and a 2005 RX-1 this year, so I wanted to test drive a Vector. I was impressed with the Vector!! In my estimation I thought the rear suspension rode better then my Mono-shock RX-1 does. I also thought it was a better performer in the corners. Not as good as the RX-1 in acceleration or speed, but it was no pig either. Best part was, I thought we would only be going about 30-35 MPH because we had to be led by a Yamaha represenative, but this guy was crusing the trails at 80-85 MPH. They will also be there on Sunday to give Demo ride. Tug Hill trails were in decent shape at least on the Eastern half of the Hill.

Thanks for the input. Sounds better than my test ride on the vector. I did it in the summer and it had wheels on it. Hmmmm. Didn't handle very good. :? I own one now,50 miles so far..I really lile it.. The throttle response is right there!!! Very quiet.. Handles way nice. That rip-saw track is great. MM ;)!

Vector

I also rode the Vector last spring in Colebrook NH. The conditions were not the best, we were mostly on a lake with over 12" of watery slush. This realy sucked up the power but it could still do over 80. (Rx1 would go well over 100, had to let up reps there) But on the trails to get there it did feel much lighter nimbler with less ski lift in the corners. The rear also seemed to stay on the ground better in the 2 foot moguls. It was also very smooth. It was hard to get over the pull of the RX1 though so it was hard to be subjective...a bit. I came home and bought a 03 RX1 the next weekend. I intend to ride it this year and then next year....hmmm, not sure. I would like to have ridden the Vector all day to get a better feel. It was hard not to love them both. :yam: :4STroke:

BBW, see my post in the suspension section regarding additional settings on the monoshock ;)!
