Round or Square, Aluminum or Nylon backers when studding?

Thank you

Thank you for all your imput. I ordered 192 Top Dog 1.38 with round aluminum backers.

square either plastic or alum ...and of course steel is always more reliable than round...especially when the stud is over 1.250...
tall nuts will help a lot..

if properly installed with enough quantity for power etc..plastic is a nice way to save weight..
I have some extras for sale in the classifieds

I like the square alum backers. Easy for me to turn the track and look for the backer that is turned, that way I know it needs to be tightened. When they get loose they turn. Never had a problem yet with 2400 miles. Have only retightened 3 or 4 in total all last winter.
