I see the picture for the RX muffler but does anyone have a cut open picture of a vector/rage exhaust muffler? I'm wondering if it shares the same layout internally as the RX/Apex ones? I may need it for a different use so looking to see a picture before I buy a used one. Thanks guys!

Hi Kinger, I gutted my 05 Vector muffler back in 06. Although I did not take any pictures at the time the layout is basically the same as the RX muffler. I took everything in the center out and then welded it back up. The sound level is still quiet with just a little bit raspier tone. I did not notice any performance gains or drive ability issues. There is no droning at any speed. Hope this helps with your decision.

So do you think that gutting the muffler helped the droning at all?

I never had any droning from the exhaust on my Vector. The only droning I ever had was from the track when running with the stock suspension and worn sliders on hard trails. When I changed my skid to the ZX2 there has not been any droning since. I ordered my ZX2 when they were first introduced and installed it right away. Best mod to an 05 Vector along with 07 Nytro seat and steering relocate. Still my favorite ride in my stable, and I have a few. 91 Phazer with a mono skid, 88 XLV all stock, 83 Bravo all stock, 07 Phazer FX all updates, 06 Apex with MPI supercharger and ZX2 skid.
