Hey folks , I have a 2006 rs nytro 1000 , I am wanting to drop a tooth on the top gear. From my research I’ve gathered that the stock gearing is 21/40 with a 68 link chain. Is this correct ? If so. Putting a 20 tooth top gear will I need to change chains or is the stock 68 link chain going to work?
I’m new to the gearing side of things , I have a 1.5 inch track put on it and I just want to achieve a little more bottom end grunt off the start for ditch banging and aggressive trail riding!
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
Follow this link. https://totallyamaha.com/ You have 21/40 with a 70 link chain. To go to 20/40, you'll need a 68 link chain. All of this information is found in the Tecnical Pages found on the Home website.
