Do you have symptoms of a bad jackshaft bearing before it is to late? How easy do the shafts bend? Can a bent shaft be fixed? Thanks

why not just check it by popping a seal out with the clutch and snap ring off?

rust, dried up grease, broken bearing cage, discouloured (black or blue) cage rollers or races are some of the more common signs of failure. i wash mine out in place and repack using a needle greaser every year on my sleds.

depends how bad. i would not trust it myself if it was discouloured blue or black where the bearing runs on it.
