I just had a nice conversation with Scott Bergstrom and ordered triple points/ski savers/shims for my RS Venture GT. I'm now trying to come up with a safe, sane, non-damaging way to lift the front end up enough to pull off the skis to install the shims. Obviously I only need a few inches of lift. Any ideas? Where can I apply lifting force on the sled without damaging it?

I've used a floor jack with a 2x8 on it , lifting right under the front end. Directly between the a-arms. I have also used a milk crate under the lower a-arm LOL! Anything that will support the sled. And yes, Scott is a GREAT guy. I live very close to his shop and stop in frequently. Not to buy product, just to chat. Good luck with changing you wearbars

I have the same sled...When I am working on it I muscle it over on it's side and support it by it's handlebars..I grab it by the bottom A arm and the front of the running board...........Let me know how you like the new ski set up, I have woody dullies they have stopped the darting but I find a lot of pushing in the corners......

I use my trolley jack and using a piece of wood, jack up the A-arms. You can do it on either side or if the piece of wood is large enough, lift up the whole front end at once.

I use a come-along and attach it to front bumper and an overhead rafter. Gets it nice and high, easy to work on.

I have a hoist in my garage and I wrap a lifting strap around the A-arm area and lift her right up!
Personally I wouldn't lift it by the front bumper...HEAVY!!! But that's me!!!!

I've done the same thing Viper_Dave. I've supported my sled on 3 milk crates to do an oil change. Them crates are pretty tough.

A lift I made [made 4] to lift front or rear of sleds, plus is useful to lift quad, lite trailers, hitches, etc. I use them year around.

I just use my snowmobile lift. Lifts the whole sled off the ground 2'. The track, rear suspension and front end are all hanging there. Nothing in the way. The sled is just begging to be worked on, but it's a Yamaha, so there is nothing to do!

2x4 and a floorjack. You're going to need a second 2x4 to use as a come-along in order to get enough pressure to "squeeze" the ski back into alignment to get the bolt back through the holes. Just did it a week ago.

I just used a cheap wal-mart special floor jack. Lifted from the lower shock mount. took skis off, installed runners and ski savers, and shims. placed the ski back into position and lifted on ski handle to get bolt in. Simple a pie.
