rs venture handleing

Yeah true, last week was warm and the snow was sticky, then it's cold again and things speed up then more snow and now it's two feet deep so you slow down again!! I am very impressed with the handling now that I made those changes, it is still a heavy two up sled so there are limits.

I wonder how those 2up Venture's are geared? If most of your riding is 1up and you do in fact have lower gearing, you could change it and gain some top end. Exactly how much I don't know.

Any other 2up owners out there have some thoughts?

Well most of my riding is 2 up so speed is not a big deal, my wife won't balk too much at 125 kmh but she prefers to see the scenery as opposed to a blur of forest!! Lol

mine is the venture tf which is lower geared than the gt or reg. vent
I have seen 107 under perfect cond. (glare ice, wet conditions for lube)
99 on very hard roadbed
80 blazing across the lake in deep powder
I have thought of gearing changes, but I bet it won't make a diff.:)

Those are on speedo or gps?

doesn't matter, it is a comparison
if my speedo is out by 10mph
who cares it still goes 97
that's insane for a touring sled
by the way my 700indy touring went 115 under perfect conditions
where my 900 fusion only went 109 same day
and I could feel the diff
the fusion , I could feel the track holding me back
and the 700 touring just went free wheel
it was amazing, again who cares if it was 10mph out
the touring was walking away from the fusion:confused:
we did several runs
my point was the gearing change, may not make a diff
the clutching changes with the resistance

My speedo and gps are pretty close, worse in deeper snow because of track slip. So did a 55 km trip with the wife and even she felt the handling difference with the changes I made, will try a few more adjustments that you all have passed on, supposed to go on a 200 km trip this weekend, stand by to stand by.

You're right......too many people here say "wow I did 108 on the speedo" and get all wound up and brag about it. IMO...these are not 100 mph sleds...a few that are tweaked or "just right" box stock sure. Especially the 997 carb'd motor. The 1049 EFI motor is a monster! I never thought I'd feel so much difference between the two.

Just set the control rods to minimum, waiting for the weekend and not -35!!!

Wife and I did a 90 km trip, lake and trails, the setup is pretty good. Tried the spring setting on H going across the lake and dam near had the wife sitting on my shoulders a couple times. Changed it to M and it worked perfect. Almost broke my thumb on that darn selector when it snapped forward, need to get a good socket for it!!!!

I tightened up my limiter strap and it helped a ton. Need to make another hole as there are only 2. What did you guy use to make another hole some sort of punch? Drill seems like it may make a hole that isn't clean.

Small drill hole followed by a red hot nail to seal up the threads.

Toward the rear of your skid there are two rod assy's at about a 10 oclock (forward) to 5 oclock (rearward) angle. They can be adjusted to increase or decrease weight transfer.

Speed? you're at 78 MPH. Is that GPS or speedo? I don't know how these sleds are geared and what their potential is. Remember, it is a 2up sled and not meant to be a lake racer. Best GPS speed I have seen on my 14 LTX is 95 mph and that was going down hill a bit on perfect "speed snow"..
I have a 2015--where are these transfer Rods? I do not understand what and where?
