called my dealer, I have three recalls, Ignition igniter, clutch slider, and secondary shaft. Nice of them to notify me.

I don't know why the dealers are not notifying their customers about the service bulletins. Aside from good customer service, you'd think their service departments would want the business. Maybe I'm missing something.

service bulletin
I agree, I wish they would of notified me, but this is a bulletin, not a recall, so if they do not notify you and you do not get it fixed it does not cost Yamaha any money, this is the way i look at it. I agree they should notify you. Trails are now open in my county and i have to take my sled into the dealer this week. Some dealers do not have the secondary shafts, one i called knew nothing about it.

I dropped my machine off last night for replacement of the torsion springs.
While I was there I asked the service guy to run my VIN for bulletins.
He said the jackshaft came up and they would take care of it. (Other items had been fixed already-clutch/CDI box)
I asked how they did on Warr. issues $$ wise, he said terrible.
Yamaha does not allow nearly enough time to do any jobs so they lose money every time on warranty repairs.
This may explain to all of us why we have to chase a dealer to get Warr. work done or even be notified of it needing to be done.
This is by no means a slam on this service dept. as they were the first ones who actually told me I needed this replaced. Thank You Darryl!

Glock30...........That make sense. It's called capitalism. In other words, do the jobs that you can make the most money on first. The problem, then, is with Yamaha "short changing" their dealers.

After reading this post and seeing some VIN #'s listed I talked with my dealer today and asked again if they had checked my Rage VIN for the jackshaft bulletin. I had just got my sled back a little over a month ago, after 10 months, and the dealer did clutch and CDI and was suppose to check on jack shaft but guess what... they missed it . I can't tell you how happy this makes me.

If it took him that long it might be worth driving a little to another dealerGround Blizzard said:After reading this post and seeing some VIN #'s listed I talked with my dealer today and asked again if they had checked my Rage VIN for the jackshaft bulletin. The 10+ months was not all their fault and not just the clutch and cdi. Many parts for my repair where B/O from Yamaha and the 1st dealer(nightmare) had it for 8 of those months before I brought it back to the dealer I bought it from. The 1st dealer sells 99% AC and are bone heads when it comes to Yamaha and the place I bought my Rage from is a convenient 6hr round trip . It will be interesting to see what happens since my sled is now out of warranty and the jackshafts are...guess what... B/O .

When i called the dealer they said the bulletin came out November 19th for the secondary shaft. I found one dealer that has them in stock out of four.

Just got igniter box and clutch done, now back to dealer for shaft.I'm happy that Yamaha is taking care of these issues though. Now about that damn track noise(i've seen a post about an A/C silent track fixing that but they don't make a 144 in. one!)
the last six #s of my sled are 004988.In november the dealer I talked to said the only bulletins pertaining to my sled were the clutch noise and the ignitor box, nothing about the shaft. do you know if they just recently came out with these #s for the shaft?
