Last year I took my 2005 RS Venture and coverted to single seater crossover sled. I ride in conditions that can range from icy lakes to powder in the hills. To meet these conditions I just upgraded track on modified RS Venture. I just put 1.75" track with screw in studs on RS Venture 144" skid. To ensure that I had enough clearance I used 7T Whal drviers. Overall reduction in radius of drviers = 0.8". Added 0.5" for track + 0.2 stud head. All worked out on paper.
Problem # 1: Just noticed an issue with track rubbing on on guides on top of front pivot arm for skid due to reduction in driver radius. How big of an issue is this? Looking for suggestion/solutions?
Problem # 2: Due to overall reduction in driver radius I am unable to get the track sag back to specification. Track sag at 22lbs is 1 7/8". Spec is~ 1 3/8". Adjusters are all the way back. Since I am using extorverts I am hoping that the extra ~1/2" of sag from spec will not be a problem. Track is new, any idea how much the track will stretch? How loose can you run extrovert track?
Solution? Move skid back ~1" and lower front support down ~1"????? In theory this should solve both problems.
