Hi,
I have a 2007 RS VK Professional, and I have got a engine problem. The cam chain tensioner was probably not working well, and the cam chain jumped 5 teeth. I have taken the chain tensioner out and have a new to install, but I am not sure if the valves have been in contact with the pistons. Do anyone know how many teeth that is critical before I have to worry about the exhaust and intake valves? Do I need to take the top off to check? Is there another way to verify it? I got new gaskets and bolts, but I am a little worried about the job.

Took of the top of the VK today. The valves had not been in contact with the pistons, so the top is in perfect condition. I will now start to assemble all the parts again, and hopefully have it running again. I will install a new chain tensioner.
I was surprised that it was very little wearing in the cylinders after running it 26200km. (16300 miles)

I had problems to get the alignment marks on the magneto rotor with the TDC of the #3 piston, so I took of the casing and the rotor. There I saw that the woodruff key was broken. The cams and pistons have probably been ok the hole time, but the timing of the ignition have been 90 deg off.
The one way bearing in the start clutch seems ok, but there is some heat marks on the starter clutch gear. See pictures. Do anyone know if this is normal? How easy should this one way bearing run? There is some resistance but not much. Should I change the one way roller bearing ?
