Rtx or stay with gt

After owning a RTX and spending some time on a Attak with a mono I'd definaely put wifey on a mono sled. Mono=more plush maybe less durable. RTX twin shocker=big bump capable but needes a revalve to work right, not so good in small stuff but seems to hold up better to harder riding.

I guess I'll chime in here, just bought a '08 RTX and just rode it tonight after a revalve along with riding my '04 viper s with a slightly used M-10 I just put in....I shouldn't have done that comparo.... The RTX is a slightly more rideable brick now, but the M-10 under the viper puts that RTX suspension to shame. Now I'm starting a post on the issues I have after the revalve. I never would have bought the RTX had I known this before hand. I have a bad back and this will definitely wreck my back if I ride it this way. I had a ski-doo rev mxzx and it rode like a caddy. maybe even better than the M-10, too bad the motors are piles of $#!T

I really, really enjoy and appreciate my Mono skid. The key is having a good shock re-valve done, like all Yamaha skids it seems.

Another big key is having the proper revavle along with spring to match, then setting up for the proper amount of sag. Most just get on and go, and forget all about the proper pre-load.

Getting the proper amount of sag on a RTX is impossible. I weigh 215 without my gear on. When you sit on it, it sags about 2-2 1/2 inches max on the softest spring settings, then stops like a brick. You have to jump on it to get it to move more. This makes no sense to me as the suspension coupler hasn't come close to coupling yet.

If this guy wants his wife to be happy riding a RTX, he'll have to install a different rear suspension...Unless she likes feeling like she is in a paint shaker.
