I have both.
07 RTX
and
08 LTX GT (wifes)
the traction of the LTX is great. I mean it doesnt have to lift the skis high and the thing is gone. Its a very smooth plush ride, she LOVES the ride of it. Im too heavy for it, so when the trails get rough I can bottom it out. But its set up for her at her weight not me at 280 plus gear. But for just cruising the thing does really well.
Now for the RTX. I bought it because I heard the issues with the mono and my weight. To be honest I tried all kinds of set ups, I actually got it to handle really well, and I like the front floats. But could never get the skid to do what I needed in the back. When the trails werent rought I could soften it up and it would be fine for cruising. If I put more tension into the shocks I thought it rode horrible, ,was very rough but still bottomed so easy. Would just launch me off the sled.
I know I could have went and got them revalved and thought of it. I ended up putting a skid from a Dragon into it. I still have some adjustments to make, and still learning it. But it doesnt bottom out near as easily or hard as the CK skid did. I have to actually reposition the skid in the tunnel at the rear as its hitting the tunnel protectors too easily. But that was me putting it higher in the tunnel trying to lower CG a bit. N ot that big a deal to lower it.
Im not a fan of the CK skid after 2 seasons on it. Not at my weight. The trails here get 1-2 foot moguls in them and the thing just killed me. I could NEVER outrun my wife on her LTX. She is a newer rider and I couldnt leave her behind. I couldnt take the pounding. She just flies through them.
I will be extending this skid next year to 136 just for the traction portion of it, and the bridging of smaller studder bumps.
