I am leaning towards an rtx rather then the attak. I want a 136, but was thinking I might be better extending the rtx then using the mono?
Please post your opinions on it. Thanks.

Hey there, i have 07 RTX, my buddy has a 06 Attak,
i like both machine.. but i think the CK skid is better in ALL conditions.
most peeps say the long track RA is better in the studder bumps.
but i just cannot agree. i have found no situation that i would prefer to have the RA skid.
imho the CK skid kicks the RA skid all over the map, other than soft comfort.
i have blue in my blood all the way.. no flaming please for not liking the RA skid
cheers
more like a corvette ride, RA is like a caddy ride!

To me the reason to go with the ProActive CK suspension is durability. So far mine is holding up perfectly and I've been working this suspension harder than I've ever worked a Yamaha suspension before (hard enough that my buddies have all broken their monoshock suspensions this season riding with me - as usual not a single REV suspension problem though...).
As far as ride, in stock form the monoshock soaks up the smaller bumps much better and overall provides a more comfortable ride if you're cruising on decent trails.
When the bumps get bigger and you're riding the sled harder, the Pro Active is the clear winner in stock form, but IMO once a stiffer spring is installed and the shock is revalved the monoshock rides better on rough trails than a stock ProActive. The monoshock skid is also inexpensive to upgrade. The problem is if you ride them too hard, the monoshock suspension just can't handle it. This season my buddies have broken front pivot arms, rear pivot arms, slide rails and weight transfer rods.
I believe that with the shocks revalved and more preload in the torsion springs (hopefully stiffer/taller riding springs will be available next season) that the ProActive will be an exceptionally good suspension for aggressive riding making the RTX an extremely good package. The only downside is price. The torsion springs are very expensive ($300 for a pair), the front coil spring is another $60 and there are twice as many shocks to revalve than the monoshock.
If you intend to ride the sled very hard and want it to hold together for many miles, the ProActive is the way to go.
If you're more of a cruiser/lake racer, the monoshock suspension is probably the better choice.

Yup rex hit the nail on the head, and i think the mono skid geared eqally is faster on top too.

i had a 06 and now a 07 the 06 is smoother over all but i think the 07 will last longer without any issues
I'm very happy with my 07 RTX. The ck rear is much like my 06 dragon. I ride with 3 Apex Gt's and although they do have a softer more plush ride, they can't handle the rough trails as well. I'm 250 lbs with gear and still have the spring adjuster on soft. I'm at 13 clicks on the clicker shock. I've noticed that you feel the weight when ditch banging. That is the only place where my Dragon was better. Can't wait 'till next season!
