Hi, does anyone know if all four 2009 Nytro RTX SE shocks are rebuildable and revalvable? I have seen conflicting reports. TIA:)

Yes, the front Floats are easily rebuilt and revalved by throwing them right in the bin where they belong and getting a real set of GTYR shocks from the XTX and doing the work on them. The rears are easily rebuilt and re-valved by a good shop that specializes in shocks. Hygear or Star can do a great job and very knowledgable on what the Nytro takes and needs in them.

The floats are OK, but finicky. Much easier to just swap on a set of gas charged hydros with reservoirs from the XTX and take some #*$&@ ache out of the equation.

X2 on what nydiver said...
My new to me 2013 nytro came with standard coil over shocks with no rebound or compression knobs so I decided to pick up a set of fox float x, I put them on at the beginning of this season did a few rides and thought they were ok and just needed rebound and comp adjusting, a month ago i did a northern Ontario trip 2200km in a week and wish I hadn't put those shocks on, the day I got back from that trip I put the stockers back on which work great for trail riding, did about 1500 km on local trails and sled handled 10 times better than with the fox float x front shocks...
A buddy of mine actually has a set of the black gytr that are just under an inch shorter than the silver found in the nytro, I put them on last week just before another northern trip and surprisingly they worked great once I got the rebound adjusted to my liking...

Would standard 2009 FX Nytro front shocks be the same as (or similar to) the XTX front shocks that you guys refer to?

Like nydiver said, Floats can be rebuilt easily. They are an air shock so there is no revalving, you just change the air pressure. I have a set on my Phazer RTX and thought they performed well. The advantage of Floats is they are light weight. The biggest disadvatange I have seen with the Floats is that if you have a seal go bad on a trip, your ride is done unless you have spare shocks with you on your trip. I had this realization my last ride last season after 3 seasons on the Phazer with the Floats. So I went out and bought a used set of steel coil over shocks to have in my tool box for back up. For the Nytro RTX I just picked up, I think I will go the route nydiver suggested which is pick up a pair of GYTR clicker shocks off of an XTX. I think you have better tune ability with the GYTR clicker shocks and they should be more robust than the Floats IMO. G.B.
