I've just been informed about the multiple suspension breaks some of you are having. Has anyone figured out how to keep the stock skid from breaking multiple times? Yamaha must be loosing big money on these sleds if the sleds are under warrenty.

I was thinking of switching to an RTX next year, but my Apex ER has 9,000+ miles without breaking the suspension, so I might have to stick with another ER.

Yooper, you have the monoshock correct? My 06 RTX has the mono, but I had it revalved and I reinforced it, and we kinda beat the cheese out of them when we ride..don't like to play 2nd fiddle to the real bump jumpers...so far, no cracks developing. I check it weekly. She's taken quite a pounding so far.....
And the 05 Vector my son rides (he's always right behind, so it's taking a pounding too) with the original twin shocker, still looks fine after 4000 miles with no reinforcement..just lots of grease weekly.
But both RX1's (pro action skid) I had developed cracked w arms after about 2000 miles, and one now has over 6000 on the welded arms with no more cracking.

True, the twin shock Vector ate the limiters last year. I made new ones out of reinforced belting that was scrapped at work...really tough stuff. So far so good. The big mono limiter still looks good..

I took off the Vector bump stops that I installed and lengthened the limiters all the way and problem solved.
