i am farely new to this sight and just bought a RTX. I way 230 with gear and ride fairly aggresive. My biggest Concern is to which clip position i should go with?? also what air pressure in the floats( sitting on the ground)??? Thanks!!!

I weigh 25 lbs. less than you and I have it set (C-clip) to the stiffest position (3?) and the cam set at the softest. Started off stiff for the first 50 miles but now that it's broken in, it's much more compliant. It's a good set up because you can turn the Mono to MAX HARD on big bumps and still cruise fast with little bottoming....or go to MAX SOFT for absorbing smaller stutter bumps. Or, somewhere in the middle!
Being 230, you may need the stiffer spring. I think, at 205, I put the stock spring to the limit.
I haven't touched the Fox floats. They are perfect where they are, wherever that is! I haven't checked! I think the Fox shocks do a great job keeping both skis on the ground but absorbing all the bumps on either side of the turn. The RTX was the right choice for me, I am very pleased...other than the paint coming off the tunnel already...

Buy the bigger spring!!! Set it at clip 1 and adjust from there. Set the floats at 70lbs +/- 5 lbs with the weight off them. This is about 95lbs with the weight on them???

70 on the floats is the best i found for cruising, too soft for jumping, set the limiter strap to middle set of holes, put c-clip on middle setting, set my cam adjuster on 5 and pulled control rod in 1/8"(1 line),im 225 with gear and i couldnt believe the difference from stock(stock set up was scary to ride),made my ski shims and easy steers the other night to get rid of the darting and im ready to ride, gonna try floats higher and lower to see effect, have a 40mile cross country race in march to run in so really want to have rtx ready for a rough ride, entered my 03 rx1 last year and 4 mile run across long lake triggered tors so i didnt finish where i thought i should ,this year will be different hopefully

I'm 230 before gear and I have my RTX working very well for me.
Limiter at stock setting
Floats at 65 lbs (measured with sled elevated)
C - clip on second groove with the cam at #4
control rod approx 1/8 inch past standard towards min
I also have shimmed skis and 8" Bergstrom triple point carbides.

I'm 200lb's without gear, starting to get the sled closer to where it needs to be..
Floats at 73lb's seems to work best thus far
C-Clip in 2nd position with the cam on #4 and the RA 5 clicks from the stiffest setting.
Control rod is in the stock position but limiter strap is pulled up 1 notch.
Twisties and open trails this set up is working very well, on big hits I'm still bottoming the rear shock but going to adjust the cam setting a bit stiffer and see if that will be enough to take care of the bigger hits. Put a set of Doo pilot 5.7's on which really makes this thing rail, an has virtually eliminated the darting. It also seems to be more stable, perhaps the keel being off-centre and the extra carbide on the outside is making for a wider ski stance... So far its working very well.
Best.

Just came back from riding 900 miles in the Gaspe of Qubec. My suspension setup is still working very well but I'm just not happy with the skis. The shims eliminate all of the darting on hard pack and groomed trails - but get into some powder and the sled feels down right dangerous. One day we did about 200 miles in approx 5 inches of powder and it was a white knuckle experience for me all day. Once we were back on hard packed the skis worked great. None of the Doos I was with had a problem in the powder.
The sled is AWESOME - but I'm really considering a pair of simmons skis.
