I am thinking about extending my 06 RTX to a 136 with a tracks usa rail and tunnel extention. My hope are that it will ride and take rough trail conditions the way my 06 attak did. can anyone chime in and tell me if it will be worth doing this with a mono skid and if i will get the results im looking for? i feel teh 136 bridges the bumps better than the 121 but i do not know that much about the mono shock skid

Oh it will ride like a dream... but if you ride hard thru rough stuff & jump anything over 1-1.5' high, you'll be bottoming out hard and alot.

As you should know from having a mono skid in the Attak, they are not meant for pounding thru the rough & jumping.

My question to you is... if you like a more comfortable ride that the 136" & mono delivers, why did you get rid of an Attak for a 121" RTX?

I traded the attak at the end of last year for a 4 wheeler and then this year decide to get another sled. (COULDNT GO WITHOUT) i got a good deal on the RTX but now i am very unhappy with the ride it gives. I dont want to spend the 60-700 buck extending it if i am not going to really notice much difference at all.

You'll notice a HUGE difference in ride quality.

It's just that the RTX is made more for agressive, ditch bangin', mogul jumping action and the Mono-Shock is for plush trail cruisin' comfort.

I was gonna extend my Apex to a 136" for this season, but didn't have the extra money to do it. I hope to for next season though. My 136" Vector rides so nice compared to my Apex. So I know why you wanna stretch your Apex.

I think i have made my mind up. Going to extend it to a 136! Now i have to decide to gowith a 1.25 track or a 1.50... tracks usa has great deals on the track+extention kits. I think i will go with them. anybody have suggestions on which trach to go with? 1.25 or 1.50?

Muffin Works has some great extension kits (not including the track). We have rail extensions available in straight or tipped versions. Our tunnel extensions are extremely strong and look great.

There's a post in our forum on a 144" stretch we did on a Vector ... but it's still a mono-shock so it should give you a good idea. Otherwise you can check out our website (which has a brand new look!) for more details.

If you search around you'll see that many have used our kits with great results, and we have an excellent reputation.

Should i go to a 144" instead os a 136. It wont be much more money and will probably be much more worth it.

I made my 06 RTX a 144" and love it and the hook up is kill with the way I did it. I have a link blow on the build.

136

I have an '06 Apex RTX with the mono...I did the muffin works 136 tunnel and rail extension..I also went with a 1.5" lug....Sled defenately has more bite taking off...Ride very smooth..not choppy...I don't bottom out...When I had the skid out I pulled the shock and put the snap ring up in the 3rd position...with the spring pretensioner on its lowest setting it doesn't even come close to grounding out and me dressed I am about 245 lbs

I went with the 144 on my 08GT and love it. For the money you will be spending I would go 144.

Thanks Guys i think i am going to go with the 144" It is around the same money and i think it will ride much better. the only issue is it wont fit in a 10 foot enclosed trailer where as the 136 will. I have never heard about moving the snap ring on the shock id like to kow more about this. i am also about 245 geared up and sound like you have a good setup.

Here are photos of the three clip positions on the monoshock and what weights it will handle at these weights
