I have a 2007 rtx with 500 miles on it and the most I could get out of it yesterday was 109, and a couple of times it would only do 102mph, Is this typical? My stock rx1 would easily pull to 115-120 on the speed. I was a little disappointed that my cousins 500ss was right with me?

Mine really work up when I got 1500 plus range. I pulled 124 on the speedo. Speed is really dependant on conditions.

2007 RTX will only pull 114 on radar. You won't have any gear left.

i've hit 124 on my speedo on my stock rtx.

With the ripsaw and stock drivers I always had good speeds, 120-124 with a high of 126, Now with externals and 1.375 paddle I average around 107-110 on groomed trail, it will still get high speeds with this track but needs plowed road or very crispy snow like after a rain to get it. May be going back to ripsaw and factory drivers.

You can't rely on the dreamometer for actual speed though. Your cousins 500 ss stayed with you in a drag race or just on the speedo's?

Why not stay with the extro drivers and install the rip saw track?? Just a thought?

With the transfer set halfway or less and the track set fairly close to yamah spec I really didnt get any ratcheting, even in deep snow. I do think the uneffeciency of the extros may play a small part in the loss of top end.

06 Apex GT when new would go to 116 on Dream-meter at WOT. After 1600 miles increased to 121
or about 5 mph in good ice / snow conditions.

Thats stock everything with 144 studs !

I hope I get another 5 mph's. I am at 123mph with 75 miles on. Don't really want to hold it for too long though. It felt like it could pull a couple more.

I don't get any ratching either. I run my skid at full transfer, limiter straps at stock setting and really snug the track down. My sliders do not wear to bad either, but I have the low snow wheel kit installed and I am conscious about keeping the slides cool.

He hasn't run out of gear at under 100mph though.

For the other comments on extrovert drivers, I'm running Skidoo anti-ratchet/extrovert drivers on my 07 RTX and I don't think it lost anything over the stock drivers. We came upon a lake when riding in Quebec yesterday and decided to do a little comparing between the REV-XPs and 2 Apex sleds. The group had an 06 Apex ER, my 07 Apex RTX ER, a REV-XP MXZ X 800R, a REV-XP MXZ Adrenaline 800R and an 07 MXZ 600SDI.

My 07 RTX, with extroverts would slowly crawl past the 06 Apex ER and MXZ X 800R. The MXZ Adrenaline 800R was the fastest by a few mph (and much faster through mid-range). All sleds are stock, except I have the extroverts + a 1" track with 144 studs. From fastest to slowest (top speed wise):

1. 08 REV-XP MXZ Adrenaline 800R, 1" Ripsaw, 84 studs (I'm not 100% positive on the studs; he may have a few more).
2. 07 RTX ER, 1" Predator, Skidoo anti-ratchet drivers, 144 Gold Diggers, 2 to 3 mph slower (estimated).
3. 08 REV-XP MXZ X-package 800R, 1.25" Ripsaw, 84 studs, 2 to 3 mph slower than the Adrenaline (my RTX was only just a hair faster on top; this sled actually beat me by a good 2-3 lengths through mid-range - we only lined up once).
4. 06 Apex ER, 1.25" Ripsaw, 96 studs, 3-4 mph slower than the Adrenaline, about 1 mph slower than my RTX.
5. 07 MXZ 600SDI, stock, studded (not sure how many), I'm not sure how much slower this is on top end, but it accelerated very well (stayed with us all) up to at least 80+ mph. He's had it up to 107 mph on radar.

So those 600SDI's can be quite fast, extroverts don't kill top end (Skidoo extroverts anyway) and the fact that the RTX is geared lower than the Apex ER doesn't hurt top end on snow covered lakes (even if the snow is very hard packed and/or wind swept).
