Running rough during warmup

2013 FX Nytro
Hi All,
My 2013 fx nytro has 4,500 km on it. Bought it from the dealer last month (no warranty). It starts up Instantly but sounds weak as if not firing on all 3 during warm up. After warm up throttle response is lagging with occasional backfire. Today we drained the gas, which could be ancient, and ran fresh premium. Still rough. We examined the plugs and all 3 were black and possibly wet.
So I would like to ask everyone, does this sound most likely a case of bad gas leading to bad plugs? I will change the plugs of course.
Thanks in advance everyone. Sorry if this is obvious, but am fairly new to troubleshooting. Cheers.

Its tough to tell how rough its running based on your post. In general these engines do not like to be started and shut down - that over and over can lead to a chunky idle. They much prefer to be started and run to full operating temps. If the previous owner(s) were guilty of doing that, a good run at the start of the season may clear everything. If it is not that simple it could be bundle of issues. Sounds like you are starting at it the right way. The plugs should be a nice light brown so their black/wet condition is showing something.

Sounds like bad gas. Have you checked the air intake for any restrictions as well? New plugs, new gas and add a little seafoam to the gas should do the trick.

I'd guess it needs new plugs and some fresh gas. Same thing happened to my sled last year and through some new plugs in it and new tank of gas and it was good to go.

Thanks to everyone who replied.
Happy to report that new plugs and fresh gas appear to have done the trick. I guess the real test will be first ride of the season, but for now it sounds great.

That is great and thanks for letting everyone know the fix.

Pete
