When you change the oil and filter, how much total oil is required?
The manual says 4qts total over all but then it lists 3.2qts with a filter change. It also states at 2.1qts to the oil tank and it doesn't say to add anything else. Do I add the last quart into the oil tank or the inlet on the top of the motor?

I just did mine, with filter, it took just shy of 4 quarts.

Even without a filter change, mine takes about 3.5 quarts. 3 barely brought it to the "E" line.
Buy 4 and have a bit left over to add if necessary through the season.

My dealer always told me E means enough thats what he was told at training when they first came out in 03 And if I go by that mine doesnt seem to use as much, if I top it up to full it just sucks it down to E and then stays there.

RX1 oil change
I just did mine with filter and 3.2QTS was right on. I put 2 in the tank and one on the top , started and let run than let it sit overnight and topped off next morning to Full mark. Intertesting note on the E mark. I will keep an eye on it. Thanks
