what all is needed to mount an apex seat on an rx-1? been looking into getting my rx-1 closer to rider forward like my fathers apex is.

Also have a set of apex handlebars collecting dust that i would like to mount on my rx-1 so i will have the hooks on the bars, does the whip need to be changed to mount the bars?

what size riser block will be needed with the apex bars, in order to get the bars to the height that they are on the apex? i noticed the bars themselves off the apex seem to have a lower bend in them than the rx-1 does.

Trying to do some updating on my rex to get it to ride like the yonger sleds do. its a pain to fight my sled to get it to keep up with the apex's and nytro's :exc:

You might consider using the seat off of an RS Nytro instead. Fits easily and only requires some trimming of the bezel that covers the fuel tank. Several guys on here have done that to RS Rage which is essentially same chassis as RX-1.

You need to trim the cowl on the gas tank, and change the wiring to the rear light, the plugs aren't the same on either the front or the back. You can also use an Apex tailight, that would eliminate the need for a plug change on the rear of the seat.

thanks for the links, they were very helpful!

how high can i raise the bars without stretching the cables for throttle and such? looking to get a 2-3.5 inch bar riser to go with the seat.

If you are staying with the stock bars, you can go with a 3.5" riser without changing any cable but you may have to re route the throttle and parking brake.

You need the Yamaheater to install the bars because the wiring is different. You can get about 2" of rise in the bars untill you need to go to mountain cables and break line. The seat swap is easy.

I love this set up I can bounce from sitting to standing with no stress. I have mad the steering post re-location changes on other sleds to make them like the Apex but I do not like the feel. There are times on long runs I want to sit back and fly.
