New to the board and i love this place already!!!

Now, i just bought an 03 rx-1 with 1700kms and nothing done to it. A buddy of mine just bought a 99 T-cat mountain with only clutching adjustments done to it. We were out to day and after several ups and downs of the lake it was the same thing, pulling away from me right out of the hole. Not shattering me just slowly pulling away, till top end where he just simply pulled away. So my question would be what should be the first performance upgrades i do to the rx-1 to get it somewhat close or faster, lol. And i am more of a trail rider but love the lakes too.

Thanks,
Peter.

And nice to meet all of you!

If it is a stock shorty, first thing would be a clutch kit, second would be an 1.25" track. Those two should put you pretty close if not ahead! ;)! :4STroke: :yam:

If you have the stock track you are losing hookup bad . I personally don't think a stock 03 RX1 can beat a TCAT unless the Tcat is a dud. As far as addons the sky is the limit, search and read. After you read decide what is important to you.

First off, welcome to the site :rocks:

#1 Clutching, IMHO Heavy Hitters
#2 ECP Kit
#3 Good studs to help that pathetic track
#4 Install a ripsaw track

You will not believe the improvement #1 and #2 will make and neither will your buddy :4STroke:

I might also suggest dropping a line to the Guru of making the RX's rock Matt at the speedshop. He has both the products and knowledge to make your sled run very, very well :flag:

for about 2k you should be able to put him on the trailer with ease.

first add a Ripsaw.
second throw 192 1.343 roetins in it
third buy a set of Mass adjustable weights
fourth Get a 70 hp NOS kit from Holtzman.

He'll will never beat you when you run the NOS. In stock form you'll give him a run for his money up to 85 or 90 then he'll pull you!!!

My riding buddy has a 99 T-cat all stock.I can pull him from a roll to 100 and then he gets by me.From a dead start as long as we get equal traction I can still stay head until about a 100 but those cats get pretty dam good bite on anything hard packed with studs. So do what I do drag him out into the powder to race 136" ripsaw works good there. Those T-cats have long legs .Good luck. :4STroke:

Damn change the track!!!!! I just put 144 woody's in it, wish i would of know this first! And instaed of a 8"carbide i went with a set of 6" dually's. by the way, does anyone have have mods they would like to sell? exhaust, clutch...?

Powder won't do any good in fact worse if it is a Mountain Tcat. After you do some work just make sure nothing is over 1000 feet or he will wave goodbye. Most Tcats top end radar at 115 to 120 if set up right without heavy mods.
