I have 8500 miles on my warrior, not sure if the clutch has ever been rebuilt or if it even needs it. However I like to be sure my stuff is in excelllent shape before I ride! So assuming it is bad, what parts would need to be replaced in order to "rebuild" the primary? I have no clue about clutches and need the advice. Yamaha part numbers would be a great help too. BTW it does seem to work as it should and engages around 3500-4000 rpm. Thanks!!

check rollers for flat spots or if loose on pin,check weights for looseness on pin and wavy wear on the part that contacts the roller, i would say that the primary is probably ok the secondary check the bushings in the cam and moveable shive and check the pucks that the cam rides on i would say the secondary would need a little tlc compared to the primary

pretty much what spddmon said along with washing them in warm soapy water with a scotchbrite pad to remove any belt dust buildup on it.

Punch mark all components for reference before you take things apart.
The Primary's rollers and weights have bushings in them. Check to see if the bushings are wearing out of round or their ID is excessive. Also, the Primary has sliders on the spider. If there is a lot of movement of the spider to the tower fit, they may need to be replaced or at least add the O-Rings to take up the slop. The Primary has a center bushing. This needs to be inspected and replaced if scratched or worn out of round or just excessively worn. Check the Spring's free length.
The Secondary needs a new Spring. Take note of the twist when you take it apart. (i.e. hole # 3 and #3 or #6 and # 1, etc.) Inspect the Secondary's center bushing for excessive wear or out of round wear. Inspect the Base metal under the sliders for cracks or missing support metal. Inspect helix ramps for roughness or odd wear, etc.
Inspect all 4 sheaves for cracks or excessive wear on the sheave faces (e.g. grooves, etc.) Rough up the surfaces.
Make sure you get the twist right on the Secondary when you put it back together.
Make sure you line up all your punch marks, when you put the clutches back together.
