I've read all the articles about this, but I can't find any answer there.

I have a real problem with my MPG on my Warrior -04, it's so low,
many 2smokers that I rides with have better and thats a bummer :o|

I'm only averaging between 12-14 MPG on packed trails, I have manage
to get almost 15 MPG but that happened only once.

The sled has done about 4200 km (2600 miles), breakin by the book,
it takes no oil and thats good. I'm riding mostly at sea-level, 0-1000 feet.

The only thing i've done is changed the top gear to 24T and loosen the
secondary clutch spring one notch just to try to get it to shift earlier and
save som fuel, the fuelscrews are out 1 3/5 turns, track tension is very
loose, no studs.

The primary clutch, needles, jets and so on is stock, the plugs have light
brown color except along the rim where it's black.

I've tried different riding styles but that seems not to do much for the mpg.
A friend of mine has an stock -03 shorty and is getting between 18-19 MPG
at the same time.

I suspect that it's running fat at low rpm's because some 'bluthers' when I
let go of the throttle, but I'm not sure if it's standard 'issue'.
It's directly popping to 9900-10100 at WOT and it goes fast up to 180km/h
(110 miles) on the dreammeter, haven't tried any longer runs.

Where should I begin???

Lower the needles, change spring in carbs, sync the carbs (no one nearby
has tools for that:( ), ECP kit (cost $$$ in Sweden), clutch kit (also many
$$$ in Sweden), check compression (same problem as syncing the carbs).

I haven't the slightest clue on what is wrong that does 3-4 MPG but I bet
that it's many in this site with tons of knowledge that could help me out.

The local dealer hasn't so many tuning-tools (read: NONE) or knowledge so
that is a real bummer...

Var bor du? Jag bor i luleå kör med ecp kit och HH 03 kort drar ca1.7-1.9.
köp ecp direkt från matt och be han skicka med USPS tar ca 2 veckor.

I'll translate some of what mrtwostroke said.

ecp kit We all know what that is

matt Somebody on the site

Anything else posted here is irrevalant.

check the foam in the airbox. it can get very plugged with belt dust and not even appear to be dirty. wash it in hot water and soap/degreaser and let dry.anything that restricts air flow increases fuel flow so this might help.

Check for the carb box being loose fromt the carbs..

Check the pilot jets to make sure they arnt plugged.. Seems to be a big problem latly!

I shall check/clean the foam in the airbox as I imagine it runs to fat, especially at low-mid end, but then this is a 4stroker and it is somewhat a bit different than my 2banged Viper...

Last season I got my pilot jets plugged, that resulted in lack of power, mostly in low/mid end. I had then some fuel-filters installed.

And yes, I shall look into HH and ECP to get some more out of the machine, and believe me, I will then have some questions on how to setup the HH.

But I would really like to figure out the bad MPG before I add those things.

Put the whole sled back to stock... I too run in just above sea level and get great gas milage.. 14-18

Go back to stock like Welter says. Gearing up doesn't mean you are going to save fuel.

Impala you speak realy god swedish!!!!

Changed everything back to stock settings and went for a 100 km long testrun and I ended up running 12.5 MPG. Very bad :o|

So I'm back to square one. :(

Is there any other things that I should check?

My buddies 03 RX1 and my 05 Warrior used the same number of liters at every gas stop on a long weekend trip in Canada. We had the best out of our group (05 F7, 05 T660 Turbo, 03 XC700). The T660 Turbo was close typically 1 liter more.

ARE YOUR NEEDELS SET TOO HIGH??

My 04 warrior still has stock jetting, clutching, and gearing. The only thing I have changed is the plugs. Went to CR10EK when it was brand new. First tank through it I got 18mpg with it. Still get 16-18 all the time depending on snow (deep powder or groomed trail). A few times it has been down to 14 and that was with alot of slow 20 mph driving in tight trees. ===SRXSRULE===
