Hi,
What is the difference between a Rx warrior jackshaft and a RX1 jackshaft? The yamaha code are not the same...
8FA-17681-11 for warrior
8FA-17681-00 for rx1
Can I put a warrior jackshaft on my rx1?
Thank you

i think they are the same. if there is any difference it would be between the 03 rx1 and the rest, as there were a few changes after the first year. i seem to remember something about the length being a bit longer after 03, but it still worked.

Here is a link that explains how the part numbers work, but it still doesn't tell you what (if any) the difference is.

I think the only difference would be in the length on the chaincase side. The 03 & 04 models used a thicker, heavier rotor and 2 piston brake caliper. In 05 sleds were updated to a lighweight rotor and smaller 4 piston caliper. I would suspect a change of length occured when the brake components were updated.

I have done a couple of jackshaft changes, what year & sled are you working on & what year part are you trying to install.
If you did not have reverse & adding a reverse type shaft some are not the same, (I HAVE NOT FOUND A SHAFT THAT WILL WORK ON BOTH DO TO THE DIFFERENT CHAIN-CASE, )
also there is a difference on the clutch side bearing, on this side you can make it work, ( there was a change on how the jackshaft locked / adjust onto the main jackshaft bearing next to the clutch, in early years.

For what it's worth I bought an 03 RX-1 without reverse and put the reverse kit on with the original jackshaft- no issues. Also upgraded the locking system on the clutch side of the jackshaft without problems.

Did some comparing over the weekend. The sleds equipped with the newer 4 piston caliper have a longer jackshaft than the sleds with the 2 piston caliper.
